Who has defeated Gaddafi – A rag tag rebel army or an intense NATO bombing campaign? And why are NATO there at all? Supposedly to protect civilians from a Gaddafi atrocities. Yet hasn’t NATO’s involvement extended way beyond protecting civilians. Hasn’t NATO become the major protagonist in the war against Gadaffi.
It would appear that the UN resolution to allow NATO to protect Libyan civilians was simply a legal fig leaf to allow NATO to wage war against Gadaffi.
